Overview
Spark Arrestor are designed specifically for preventing the risk of fire, due to the ignition of flammable materials, caused by spark emission from the exhausts of internal combustion engines. The risk of fire caused by exhaust sparks is so high that access to many sites is barred unless engines are fitted with spark arrestors, and many countries have legislation to this effect. The risk is greatest with diesel engines, where carbon can build-up and be ignited. The high ratio of oxygen which is present in the exhaust pipe (when the engine goes off load) maintains the ignition of partially burnt carbon particles which are then discharged as high dangerous sparks.
Our Spark Arrestor are designed manufactured in high grade steel for corrosion resistance & longevity painted with high heat resistance.
Range and sizes
Eight sizes are stocked, from a 1 inch to a 6 inch exhaust bore. The model number follows the bore: CS-10 fits a 1 inch pipe, CS-30 a 3 inch pipe, and so on.
| Model | Bore size | CFM rating | Inlet A (mm) | Inlet and outlet B (mm) | Overall length C (mm) | Barrel dia D (mm) | Barrel length E (mm) | Weight (kg) |
| CS-10 | 1" | 315 | 25 | 35 | 185 | 125 | 115 | 0.80 |
| CS-15 | 1.5" | 465 | 40 | 38 | 191 | 120 | 115 | 0.90 |
| CS-20 | 2" | 930 | 53 | 61 | 290 | 156 | 190 | 2.00 |
| CS-25 | 2.5" | 1160 | 64 | 63 | 380 | 153 | 250 | 2.40 |
| CS-30 | 3" | 1625 | 76 | 62 | 390 | 172 | 260 | 2.90 |
| CS-40 | 4" | 2580 | 104 | 70 | 436 | 210 | 290 | 4.50 |
| CS-50 | 5" | 3650 | 127 | 84 | 620 | 254 | 450 | 7.80 |
| CS-60 | 6" | 4680 | 152 | 100 | 800 | 250 | 585 | 10.10 |
Dimensions and flow ratings above are SPARKO's published figures. Letters A to E refer to the dimensions on the manufacturer's outline drawing.
SPARKO also builds the CS-35 (3.5 inch), CS-45 (4.5 inch) and CS-55 (5.5 inch). These are not held in stock here but can be ordered.
Choosing the right size
Two things decide the model. First the physical exhaust pipe the arrestor has to clamp onto, and second the engine's exhaust flow, which is the CFM rating in the table. Pick the model whose bore matches the pipe and whose CFM rating covers the engine. If the two point at different models, send us the engine make, model and rating with the pipe size and we will confirm which one fits before you order.
Material
These are the mild steel arrestors, made in high grade steel for corrosion resistance and finished in high heat resistant paint. A stainless steel version is also built. Tell us which one the job calls for and we will quote it.

Ordering
Quote the model number, for example CS-30, or simply tell us the exhaust pipe bore in inches and the engine it is going on. Arrestors are supplied with fixed clamps and fitting instructions. The first photograph shows the CS-15; every size in the range shares the same design. The second shows stock on our shelves.
